Hope is a piece I did during my research for the Undergraduate Reasearch Award for the University of Delaware entitled, "The
Impact of Superheroes on Our Society. This specific piece was an examination of the themes of hope and imagination. The picture
is depicting the World Trade Center pre 9/11 while the etching is a poem by Emily Dickenson entitled, "Hope is a Thing
With Feathers." The poem is translated into Kryptonian font, as Superman is the begining and end of the modern day Superhero.
The poem invites the viewer to decipher the poem, while the image of the WTC instills a sense of hope into the viewer.
